Call phones from Gmail- Calls from PC to Phone with Google Talk ~~~~ Now in India ~~~~

Free International Calls from PC to Phone with Google Talk and Talkster (GTalk-to-VoIP)

Google has officially unveiled its new Google Mail or Gmail phone call service, with free phone call service applicable for calls to U.S. and Canada destination. With this new service, users could dial a phone just like a normal phone and able to call people to virtually anywhere in the world from the web browser.

The new call phone service is different with Google Voice, Gmail Chat or Gmail Video Chat that required both parties to be online at their computers, signed into Gmail at the same time to have a normal conversation. As the name suggests, phone calling feature could call people directly on their phones and allows users to use the computer’s microphone and headsets to call somebody on his land line, fixed phone or mobile phone in real time.

As of this update, Google Voice is the best way to make free Internet phone calls.

The Google Voice service is more of a "phone number management" service than a typical Internet phone service so it does a lot more than let you make free phone calls. Still, if all you want to do is to make free phone calls, Google Voice is your best bet.

Google Voice was formally known as GrandCentral.

Types of Free Calls With Google Voice:

Google Voice can be used to make free PC to phone calls and free PC to PC calls.

The easiest and most common way to use Google Voice, however, is to allow the service to connect your phone to the destination number for free. I suppose you could call this a free "phone to phone" call.

Sign Up for Google Voice:

You can sign up for Google Voice for free here using your Google Account, the same information you use to access other Google services.

Click on the Get a Google Number button to get your free phone number so you can start making free phone calls!

Google Voice is only open to those in the US. (Now enabled in Many Country)

How To Use Google Voice:

To use Google Voice to make free phone calls, log in to Google Voice and click the Call button. Enter a US or Canadian number in Number to call, choose a Phone to call with (this is your home or mobile number you told Google about when you signed up), and then click Connect. Google will dial the number you entered and connect the call to you for free.

To use Google Voice to make free PC to phone calls, install the Google Chat video and voice plug-in here. Once installed, you can make free calls from Gmail to real phones using just your PC microphone and speakers.

Google Voice can also be used to make PC to PC calls, often called voice chat, using Google Talk available here.

You can also use Google Voice as a web app from mobile browsers, as shown in the screenshot above. Official Google apps are available for Android, BlackBerry, and iPhone users.

Google Voice Free Call Limits:

Free calls made with Google Voice are limited to three hours in length, at which point you'll be disconnected. However, you're free to call the same number over again as many times as you like so this is more of an occasional annoyance than a restriction.

Also important to know is that calls with Google Voice are free only if you call numbers based in the United States or Canada. Calls to numbers outside the US and Canada will incur a small per-minute fee.

PC to PC calls using Google Voice are not restricted.

Google Voice Review:

I love Google Voice. I've used it personally since it was GrandCentral, before Google bought the company. The free phone calls are clear and it's a very easy service to use.

Google To Shut Down Gizmo5 On April 3

Back in November 2009 Google acquired Gizmo5, a powerful VoIP telephony service that allows users to place and receive calls from their computer and mobile phone applications. Today, the company has started informing users that it will be shutting down Gizmo5 service on April 3, 2011.

Since acquiring the startup, Google has integrated Gizmo5 technology into Gmail/Gtalk, which has allowed users to make phone calls directly from their Gmail inbox since August of last year. It’s a great feature — particularly if you’re using Google Voice — but it can’t do everything Gizmo5 can. For example, using a supported SIP application, Gizmo5 allows users to make/receive phone calls using their Wifi connections on their mobile phones. Google Voice still has yet to enable Wifi calls.
Gizmo5 also offers more flexibility in terms of hardware setups. It hooks into SMB PBX systems, allowing businesses to tap into the service, and it also supports analog telephone adapters — you can hook a landline phone into the Gizmo5′s VoIP network using the appropriate adapter.
And Gizmo5 offers desktop applications that users can leave open 24/7 without having to worry about keeping a browser tab open to receive calls. Google was also working on a desktop client for Google Voice based on Gizmo5 technology, but that project has been scrapped in favor of the Gmail/Google Talk browser plugin.
Here’s one of the emails that Google is sending to users:
Gizmo5 is writing to let you know that we will no longer be providing service starting on April 3, 2011. A week from today, March 11, 2011, you will no longer be able to add credit to your account.
Although the standalone Gizmo5 client will no longer be available, we have since launched the ability to call phones from within Gmail at even more affordable rates.
If you purchased calling credit and have a balance remaining in your account, you can request a refund by logging in to http://my.gizmo5.com. If you are in the United States, you can instead choose to transfer your credit to a Google Voice account, so it can be used for calling from Google Voice or Gmail. If you don’t have a Google Voice account, please create one so that we can transfer your credit.
Please request a call credit transfer or refund by April 3, 2011. If you don’t request a call credit transfer or refund by this date, we will automatically refund your remaining call credit via the payment method you originally used to purchase the credit. Note that if you paid via Moneybookers or if the credit card on file has expired, we will not be able to automatically refund your unused credit, so please log in to initiate the refund process.
Thank you,
The Gizmo5 Team

How to Recover Hacked Email Accounts?

It can be a real nightmare if someone hacks and takes control of your email account as it may contain confidential information like bank logins, credit card details and other sensitive data. If you are one such Internet user whose email account has been compromised, then this post will surely help you out. In this post you will find the possible ways and procedures to get back your hacked email account.

For Gmail:

It can be a big disaster if your Gmail account has been compromised as it may be associated with several services like Blogger, Analytics, Adwords, Adsense, Orkut etc. Losing access to your Gmail account means losing access to all the services associated it with too. Here is a list of possible recovery actions that you can try.
Step -1: Try resetting your password since it is the easiest way to get your account back in action. In this process Google may ask you to answer the secret question or may send the password reset details to the secondary email address associated with your compromised account. You can reset you password from the following link
If you cannot find success from the Step-1 then proceed to Step-2.
Step-2: Many times the hacker will change the secret question and secondary email address right after the account is compromised. This is the reason for the Password Reset process to fail. If this is the case then you need to contact the Gmail support team by filling out the account recovery form. This form will ask you to fill out several questions like
1. Email addresses of up to five frequently emailed contacts

2. Names of any 4 Labels that you may have created in your account

3. List of other services associated with your compromised account

4. Your last successful login date

5. Account created date

6. Last password that you remember and many more…
You need to fill out this form as much accurately as possible. It is obvious to forget the dates of last login, account creation and similar terms. However you need to figure out the closest possible date/answers and fill out this form. This is your last chance! The more accurate the information filled out in the recovery form, the more the chances of getting your account back. You may reach the account recovery page form the following link

For Yahoo and Hotmail:

Unfortunately for Yahoo/Hotmail there is no second option like filling out the form or contacting the support team. All you need to do is either answer the secret questions that you have setup or reset the password using the secondary email option.
To initiate the password reset process just click on the Forgot password link in your login page and proceed as per the screen instructions.
I hope this post will help you recover the lost account. I highly recommend that you also read my post on How to protect your email account from being hacked and Tips to find unauthorized activity on your Gmail account so that you always stay protected!

How to Protect Your Computer from Keyloggers

Protect from KeyloggersKeyloggers have been a major problem today as it does not require any prior knowledge of computers to use it. So hackers mainly use keyloggers to steal your passwords, credit card numbers and other confidential data. Below are some methods through which you can protect your computer from keyloggers:

Use a Good Antivirus

This is the first and basic step that you need to take in order to protect your computer from keyloggers. Use a Good antivirus such as Kaspersky, Norton or Mcafee and update it regularly.

Use a Good Antispyware

Since keyloggers are basically spywares, if you are a frequent user of Internet then you could be exposed to thousands of keyloggers and spywares. So you should use a good antispyware such as NoAdware.

Antilogger can be Handy

Antiloggers are programs that detect the presence of keyloggers on a given computer. Over past few years, I have tested a lot of anti-logging programs and have found Zemana Antilogger as the best antilogger.
Zemana
Normally a keylogger can be easily detected by a Good Antivirus program, but hackers use some methods such as hexing, binding, crypting and similar techniques to make it harder to be detected by antivirus programs. In this case Zemana Antilogger comes handy as the program is specially developed to protect your system against harmful keyloggers.

Online Scanning

When ever you receive a suspicious file, you scan it with online scanners such as Multi engine antivirus scanner which scans your file with 24 antivirus engines and reports it back to you if the file is recognized as a virus or spyware. This ensures that none of the malicious programs can escape from being detected as there are 24 different antivirus engines are involved in the scanning process.

Sandboxie

Sandboxie is another great program to help you protect your computer against harmful keyloggers and spywares. Sandboxie runs your computer in an isolated space which prevents your program from making permanent changes to other programs in your computer.
When ever you receive a file that looks suspicious, just run the program with Sandboxie so even if it is a keylogger or any other virus it will not make permanent changes to your computer system.
Sandboxie
To run a program in Sandboxie follow the steps as mentioned below:
1. Open sandboxie and click on sandbox menu on the top
2. Now goto Default sandbox
3. Then click on run any program
4. Now select the file you wish to run in sandboxie and click open

Keyscrambler

Keyscrambler is one of the best protection against keyloggers that you can have, Keyscrambler is a small program which encrypts your typed keystrokes so even if the victim has installed a keylogger on your system, he or she will get encrypted keys. Keyscrambler currently supports Firefox, Internet explorer and other applications, however its premium version supports more than 160 applications.
